Hi, I'm Otilia!
A Bit More About Me
When worry takes over and emotions feel bigger than you can manage, it can be hard to know where to turn. Anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and intense emotions can make it difficult to feel calm or in control, but compassion and support are available.
My caseload includes kids as young as five all the way through adults, and the concerns that bring people in vary just as widely: anxiety, OCD, trauma, ADHD, grief, depression. ERP, CBT, TF-CBT, Play Therapy, and DIR-Floortime are the tools I pull from most, but which ones we actually use depends entirely on you, not a fixed formula.
Having sat in both chairs, the client's and the therapist's, I understand the courage it takes to seek help. I'm grateful you're here, and honored to walk alongside you on your path to healing.

Who I Work With
A Range of Ages, One Consistent Approach
My practice spans a full range of ages, and that variety is genuinely one of my favorite parts of this work. A session with a child might involve toys and imagination. A session with a teenager might look more like a real, unguarded conversation once they trust I'm not going to judge them. A session with an adult often means digging into patterns that go back decades.
What stays constant is the care behind it. I've been on the other side of the therapy room myself, and that experience shapes how I show up for every client, regardless of age.
Areas I Focus On in San Diego
OCD & Intrusive Thoughts
ERP is my go-to for OCD. It's not always comfortable work, but it's the treatment with the strongest track record, and I walk clients through it in a way that never feels like I'm throwing them into the deep end unprepared.
When Worry Feels Too Big to Manage
Anxiety and intense emotions can make it hard to feel calm or in control, whatever your age. I help clients build a real understanding of what's driving it, plus practical ways to bring their nervous system back down when it spikes.
Trauma Recovery
TF-CBT gives us a structured way to process painful experiences without a client having to relive them in full detail every session. The work moves at whatever pace feels safe, never faster than that.
ADHD
ADHD support isn't about trying harder. It's about understanding how your brain actually operates and building routines and strategies around that reality instead of against it, for kids and adults alike.
Grief & Loss
Grief doesn't move in a straight line, and there's no schedule it's supposed to follow. I hold space for whatever that process looks like for you, without rushing you toward "moving on" before you're ready.
Questions Before You Get Started
Can we meet in person?
Absolutely, in our San Diego office at Resilience Counseling. Telehealth is also an option if that fits your life better, available anywhere in California.
Does insurance cover sessions?
We don't bill insurance directly, since we're a private pay practice. A superbill is provided after sessions so you can pursue reimbursement through your own insurance provider if that's an option for you.
I'm nervous about starting therapy. Is that normal?
Completely. I've sat in the client's chair myself, so I understand exactly how much courage it takes just to reach out. That nervousness doesn't need to go away before you start. We can work through it together from session one.
What actually happens in the first appointment?
We talk. I want to understand what's brought you here and what your life has looked like leading up to this point. There's no script to follow. By the end, we'll have a sense of where to start together.
It can be difficult to reach out for help, and it's important that you feel comfortable. We offer a free 15 minute consultation to answer any questions you may have.
