Hi, I'm Stephanie!
A Bit More About Me
Life can feel overwhelming when thoughts, emotions, or past experiences take over. If you or your child are struggling with intrusive thoughts, intense emotions, impulsive behaviors, or a loss of joy, you are not alone. Everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood.
I work with children, teens, and adults facing anxiety, OCD, trauma, ADHD, and depression. Drawing on evidence-based approaches such as ERP, CBT, TF-CBT, Play Therapy, CPP, and mindfulness, I tailor therapy to meet your unique needs. I also work with autistic children and am trained in DIR-Floortime, alongside extensive additional training in working with young kids.
Together, we'll build practical tools and insights that support meaningful change, stronger relationships, and a life aligned with your values. I'd love the chance to be part of that process with you and your family.

Who I Work With
Children, Teens & Adults in San Diego
I work with kids, teens, adults, and parents, and I genuinely enjoy the range. With adults, we go deep with structured, evidence-based work like ERP and CBT, the same approach you'd expect from any therapist focused on OCD and anxiety. With younger kids, that same clinical foundation gets translated through play, since that's how kids actually process what's going on for them. With teens, it's about earning real trust first so the work can land. Different ages, same level of care and expertise behind it.
Wherever you or your child are starting from, therapy should feel tailored to you, not like a one-size-fits-all program. That's how I approach every case.
Support for OCD, Anxiety & ADHD in San Diego
Getting Unstuck From Rituals: OCD Support
ERP is the approach I lean on most for OCD, whether that's a child stuck in a checking ritual before school or an adult whose intrusive thoughts have taken over daily routines. We break the cycle step by step, at a speed that actually fits your family.
Calming Big Worries: Anxiety Support
Anxiety can look like a bunch of different things, depending on the age. For kids, it could be stomachaches before school or meltdowns over small changes. For teens, it can be worrying about a bunch of different things. We meet each client where anxiety is living for them and help them learn tools and skills that can last a lifetime.
Processing What Happened: Trauma Support
Through TF-CBT, I help kids, teens, and adults work through hard experiences at their own pace. The hope is feeling less stuck, not continuing to relive those moments over and over again. There is hope with healing.
Building Systems That Actually Stick: ADHD Support
Whether it's a kid who can't sit through class or an adult who's exhausted from feeling perpetually behind, ADHD support isn't about willpower. It's about finding structures and strategies that fit how your brain actually works, not fighting against it.
Following Their Lead: Autism & DIR-Floortime
With autistic children, I use DIR-Floortime, which starts from a child's own interests and pace rather than a fixed curriculum. It's relationship-first work that respects where a child actually is, not where a milestone chart says they should be.
OCD, Anxiety & ADHD Therapy: Common Questions
Do you see clients in person?
Yes, at Resilience Counseling in San Diego we see our clients in person. If you prefer, we could also see you via telehealth anywhere in California.
Is insurance accepted?
We're a private pay practice and don't bill insurance directly. What we can do is provide a superbill after each session, which you can submit to your insurance company yourself for potential reimbursement.
My child is struggling. How do I know if this is the right fit?
The best way is usually just to talk it through. Every child and every situation is different, so a quick consultation call lets us figure out together whether my approach makes sense for what your family is dealing with right now.
What should I expect during our first meeting?
Our first meeting is really about getting to know you and hearing from you about what you're struggling with. From there, we'll decide together what we want to work on, and I'll make recommendations about the approach we should take. But really, our first session is about getting to know you.
It can be difficult to reach out for help, and it's important that you feel comfortable. We offer a free 15 minute consultation to answer any questions you may have.
